OUR ORIGIN & PHILOSOPHY

THE STORY BEHIND THE HARVEST

Founded on the principle that real food shouldn’t be complicated, groceryvalley is a return to authentic flavors and natural seasons.

Farm Field
2026

"We bridge the distance between independent regenerative farmers and modern households."

— groceryvalley Editorial Guild

We started groceryvalley because supermarkets had lost their connection to agriculture. Produce was bred for long transport rather than flavor; tomatoes lost their fragrance, and greens were stored in nitrogen bags for weeks. We believed there was a better, more conscious way to feed our homes.

By partnering directly with small-scale growers who respect topsoil integrity, zero chemical pesticides, and natural rain cycles, every basket we deliver retains the vital energy of freshly harvested produce. Simple food, curated with care.

PRIVACY POLICY

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

At groceryvalley, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy details how we handle subscriber data and store preferences.

1. Local Storage Usage

We utilize client-side localStorage to preserve your active shopping basket contents and manage your newsletter subscription status without requiring intrusive tracking cookies.

2. Information Collection

We only collect email addresses directly provided during newsletter subscription or order inquiry forms. Your data is never sold or distributed to third-party marketing brokers.

3. Your Rights

You retain full authority to request complete deletion of your records or unsubscribe using our automated newsletter form at any time.

TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

Welcome to groceryvalley. By accessing or using our online produce store, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms.

1. Harvest Guarantee

Because organic produce is subject to seasonal micro-climate changes, item weight or appearance may vary slightly. We guarantee 100% replacement or refund for any item delivered below exceptional quality standards.

2. Orders & Delivery

Deliveries are executed during specified morning or evening windows. Ensure appropriate collection or access is available to preserve cool-chain freshness.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Last Updated: January 1, 2026

At groceryvalley, every order is packed and dispatched with the same care we take in the field. Because our produce is perishable and harvested to order, our shipping system is built around cold-chain integrity, precise delivery windows, and freshness preservation — not around speed for its own sake.

1. Delivery Windows

All deliveries are executed within one of two daily windows: morning (7:00 AM – 11:00 AM) or evening (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM). Your chosen window is confirmed at checkout and reconfirmed by SMS on the day of delivery.

We do not offer delivery outside these windows. The reason is simple: between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, ambient temperatures rise enough to compromise the cool-chain on certain items — particularly leafy greens, berries, and soft herbs. Our delivery windows are set to protect the produce, not to suit our own logistics.

2. Cold-Chain Protocol

Every order leaves our facility in insulated, recyclable packaging with food-grade gel packs calibrated to the specific contents of your basket. Items are packed in the order they will be unpacked — chilled goods together, root vegetables separate, delicate items on top.

Our vehicles are temperature-monitored throughout the delivery route. If a vehicle's internal temperature rises above the safe threshold for any item in the load, that item is removed and re-packed before departure. We do not deliver produce we would not accept ourselves.

3. Delivery Zones & Timeframes

We currently deliver to the following zones. Delivery is available six days a week (Monday through Saturday); we do not deliver on Sundays to allow our farm team a full recovery day.

  • Zone A — City Centre & Inner Suburbs: Same-day delivery for orders placed before 9:00 AM.
  • Zone B — Outer Suburbs & Surrounding Towns: Next-day delivery for orders placed before 6:00 PM.
  • Zone C — Regional & Rural Areas: Two-day delivery, scheduled in advance based on the delivery circuit for your area.
  • Zone D — National Shipping (Shelf-Stable Only): Three to five business days. Perishable items are not eligible for national shipping.

If you are unsure which zone applies to your address, the correct zone is calculated automatically at checkout. Orders placed to incorrect zones will be held and the customer contacted before dispatch.

4. Packaging & Sustainability

All our packaging is either recyclable or compostable. Insulated liners are made from recycled paper fibre, gel packs are non-toxic and can be composted or reused, and outer cartons are FSC-certified.

We do not use single-use plastics anywhere in the delivery chain. If your order arrives with packaging you cannot compost or recycle, please contact us — we will collect it on your next delivery and dispose of it properly.

5. Delivery Fees

Delivery fees are calculated by zone and confirmed at checkout before payment. We do not add hidden surcharges after the order is placed.

  • Orders over $75: Free delivery to Zones A, B, and C.
  • Orders between $35 and $75: Flat-rate delivery fee, calculated per zone.
  • Orders under $35: A small-order surcharge applies. We recommend combining orders with neighbours where possible — this reduces both cost and carbon footprint.
  • Zone D — National Shipping: Standard courier rates apply, calculated by weight and destination.

6. Tracking & Notifications

You will receive three notifications per order:

  • Confirmation of the order, immediately after checkout.
  • Packing confirmation, on the morning of dispatch, with your delivery window re-confirmed.
  • Arrival notification, approximately 30 minutes before the driver reaches your address.

If you are not available to receive the delivery, the driver will leave the order in your designated cool spot if one has been agreed in advance, or contact you to reschedule. Orders returned to the facility due to missed delivery are subject to a re-delivery fee.

7. Missing, Damaged, or Delayed Orders

If any item in your delivery does not meet our quality standard, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt. We will arrange a replacement on your next delivery or issue a full refund for the affected items — no return required.

If an order is delayed beyond its confirmed window, we will notify you as soon as we become aware. Delays caused by weather, road conditions, or other circumstances outside our control will always be communicated transparently, along with a revised delivery time.

8. International Shipping

At present, we do not ship internationally. Our produce is grown and packed for same-region consumption, and international shipping would compromise the freshness that is the entire point of our operation. We hope to expand to additional regions in the future, and will announce any such expansion on our newsletter first.

9. Contact

Questions about delivery, packaging, or an in-progress order can be directed to shipping@groceryvalley.com. We aim to respond within four working hours during delivery days.

RETURNS & REFUNDS

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

At groceryvalley, we stand behind the quality of every item we deliver. Because our produce is perishable and harvested to order, our returns policy is designed around freshness guarantees rather than physical returns — the goal is always to make it right without adding friction to your week.

1. The Harvest Guarantee

If any item in your delivery does not meet our exceptional quality standards, we will replace it on your next delivery or issue a full refund — whichever you prefer. There is no need to return the item to us. This applies to every product in our catalogue, without exception.

Claims must be made within 24 hours of receiving your delivery. After that window, we cannot reliably verify the condition of perishable goods, and the claim becomes difficult to assess fairly for both sides.

2. How to Request a Refund or Replacement

Contact our customer care team at returns@groceryvalley.com with your order number and a brief description of the issue. Where possible, a photograph helps — but it is not required for the majority of claims.

Our team responds within four working hours on delivery days. Once a claim is approved, replacement items are scheduled on your next delivery, or a refund is processed to your original payment method within three to five business days.

3. Refund Eligibility

We accept refund claims for the following categories:

  • Damaged or bruised produce: Any item delivered in visibly compromised condition.
  • Below-standard quality: Items that do not meet the freshness or taste expectations we set for our own harvests.
  • Incorrect items: Anything delivered that was not what you ordered.
  • Missing items: Products listed on your invoice but absent from the delivery.
  • Late deliveries: Where a delay has compromised the condition of the produce.

4. What Is Not Eligible

Refunds are not issued in the following circumstances:

  • Claims made more than 24 hours after delivery.
  • Items that were left out of the cold chain by the customer after receipt.
  • Natural variations in weight, size, or appearance that fall within the seasonal norms of organic produce.
  • Orders that were refused at delivery or returned due to missed delivery windows.

5. Seasonal Variation Clause

Organic produce is subject to seasonal and micro-climate variation. A tomato harvested in August will not look identical to one harvested in February, and this is a feature of real farming — not a defect. Our refund policy distinguishes clearly between natural variation (which is expected) and compromised quality (which is not).

6. Cancellation of Orders

Orders may be cancelled without penalty up to four hours before the delivery window opens. After that point, the order is already packed and in the delivery chain — cancellation may still be possible, but the customer will be contacted before the order is dispatched.

Recurring subscription orders may be paused or cancelled at any time, without notice, through your account dashboard or by writing to our care team.

7. Refund Method & Timing

Refunds are issued to the original payment method wherever possible. Card refunds typically appear within three to five business days, depending on your bank. Where the original payment method is no longer available, we will arrange a credit to your account, usable on any future order.

8. Large or Repeated Claims

We handle every claim in good faith. Where a customer makes repeated claims across multiple orders, we may contact them directly to understand whether there is a systemic issue with the delivery route or packing process. Our aim is always to resolve the underlying problem, not to dispute individual claims.

9. Contact

Questions about a specific order, a refund, or a replacement can be directed to returns@groceryvalley.com. We respond within four working hours on delivery days.
